Brad and Elisa have been coming to Lloyd's Cottages since 1985. Their kids, Kyle and Katie have grown up coming to the lake every summer.
Brad's mother, Jeanette, comes with them almost every year, but this was the first time in over 20 years that Dad, Dewey came with them. Their only request, a ride on "Dell's Delight." We had a wonderful morning touring the lakes with this great family.
Among other members of the family to join us were niece Kristi, her husband, Eric, and little Faith who fell asleep with the drone of the motor.
Friends and family gather round the picnic table at the beach for food, games, and camaraderie.
The "Davis family" made their usual visit to us in June. However, it was the smallest group ever. Just Lori, Phil, Susan, and Quinn. We hope we never have a summer without them.
Guy and Tish love spending the quiet afternoon on the dock, sunning themselves and reading.
Except when her family and friends show up for a gathering around the camp fire and a great picnic meal.
Guests at Lloyd's Cottages do not need an excuse to have a gathering, a glass of wine or beer and a good meal together. People who have never met before, make long lasting friends during their annual weeks at the cottage.
Ed and David doing the cooking at our annual Fish Fry.
Another weigh in with Eric, Tom, and Jeff. Make sure that scale is calibrated right, Ed.
Amy is supposedly trying to teach Alex to fish but he does not seem too interested. Grandma, Annette, is not impressed but Grandpa, John, hopes she catches a big one.
Ed loves getting out on the boat for a nice leisurely trip around the lakes.
We are grateful to have our very own "Dock Crew," from left to right, Mike, Bruce, Bill, Dalton, and Brett. Greg, David, Scott, and Ed are missing from the picture. They even have shirts to prove it. But without the help of these wonderful friends not only would the docks not be in and out of the lake each summer, but vinyl siding, new decks, and dozens of other improvements would not happen at Lloyd's Cottages. Without the help of these guys and many other wonderful friends, Ed and Dell could not possibly manage the upkeep and improvements that you all see each year.
2012 was the summer of blistering heat and no rain. The lake level was down over a foot at mid-summer. We have never seen it so low. We warned all boaters to be careful of shoals and stumps they probably had never seen before. Luckily, we did not have any destroyed props or boats this year.
The Ospreys are always a beautiful sight. This nest is on Indian Lake.
The Great Blue Heron is an everyday and spectacular sight around our lakes. This pair of swans make the lakes their home and are seen occasionally. Our beloved Loons caught on the nest is a rare sight but on the water they are beautiful. We love to listen to their calls, especially at night.
